Yes, I've been a slacker. It's been over a year since my last post and my hope is to briefly get everyone up to date. What happened over the past 13 months? I'm glad you asked. Here's Part One.

March 2012: Will and I tagged along with Maggie to Washington, DC, for Women's Health 2012: The 20th Annual Congress. A good conference for Maggie; Will and I relaxed in the hotel a few blocks away. Our tourism included Smithsonian's Renwick Gallery. At the end of the month, Will participated in his first Easter egg hunt at our church, then we went to a nearby school for the annual Easter Seals volleyball fundraiser.

April: A second Easter egg hunt for special needs kids, sponsored by Joni and Friends. The hour drive to Quakertown Christian School was worth it as they had various activities available (face painting, games, crafts, a swing, pictures with the Easter Bunny, etc.) and scattered around 10,000 eggs in the playground and in four classrooms. We met a nice family whose son is an Easter Seals alumnus.

May: The Easter Seals Walk with Me fundraiser at Lukens Park in Horsham was nice. Chilly and damp, but nice. Some of Will's therapists were there and Maggie reconnected with a friend Judy whose children were selected as Ambassadors for the walk. The following weekend saw us at Sesame Place and a birthday party. Sadly, the day before Mother's Day we lost Princess to kidney failure. Three days later, Mom and Dad arrived for a 10-day visit that included a trip to Will's school and a curator tour at Grounds for Sculpture in New Jersey. After they flew back to Florida, we went to a friend's graduation party in New Jersey.

Stay tuned for the next installment. In the meantime, my thanks to Maggie's friend Hillary for encouraging me to write again. It still took a while, but the thought was planted and grew.
